The driver couldn't be run under compatibility mode as it did not have the option to select the Windows 10 OS. Do note the driver downloaded is for the Windows 10 OS 64 bit. After repairing the driver, I noticed that the Wifi connection became unresponsive again and when I ran the troubleshooter it didn't provide any valuable suggestion. Following this when I performed the system restart I noticed the Adapter was disabled. Please adivse.
